Zheng Baorui, director of the "Battle of Penghu" killed and destroyed dozens of warships, said,"If you want the wind, you want the wind, you want the rain."

According to the film Penghu Sea Battle, which was adapted from the real historical event of Taiwan, Penghu and Penghu, which was led by Shi Lang and Fujian sailors in 1683 (22 years of Kangxi), it was successfully shut down in December 2024. During the six-month shooting process of moving to Fujian and Jiangsu, the crew of "Penghu Naval Battle" built more than 50 ancient warships, of which 12 were more than 40 meters long and strive to be 100% reproducible. most of these warships were blown up in "Fire of War." Director Zheng Baorui talked about the six-month shooting, laughing that he had been in the film for decades, and that he had experienced "the wind and the rain" for the first time.

The film "the Battle of Penghu" was established on August 6, 2021 and was killed at the end of December 2024. It took 34 months of preparation and six months of shooting, and is now in the process of intensive post-production. Over the past six months, the crew has experienced hot summer and cold winter, with 2179 Chinese film performers in front and behind the scenes and more than 45000 actors participating in hard shooting between Quanzhou, Fujian Province and Wuxi, Jiangsu Province.

During the preparation period, in order to truly restore all kinds of warships in this naval battle one-to-one, the creator retrieved, consulted and visited nearly one million words of historical data, and finally realized the reproduction and construction of a total of 50 ships in five different systems involved in the naval battle, of which nearly 40 meters long main warships were reconstructed as many as 12. In the China Ocean Museum in Shanghai, the only ancient warship is 31 meters in length, and the ancient warship in Penghu Sea Battle is by far the largest, finest and most numerous ancient warships in China. After the killing, talking about the final destination of these one-to-one ancient warships, the director of the film said, "most of these ancient warships were destroyed and blown up in the 'flames of war,' and a few of them were collected by some museums and scenic spots."

It is a well-known common sense in the industry that naval battles are difficult to shoot. The naval battle part of the movie Penghu Sea Battle includes not only 28,000 square meters of real scenes built by the seaside of Quanzhou, Fujian Province, but also tens of thousands of square meters of warship docks built in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, as well as some real scenes of Taiwan and Penghu. In particular, in order to solve the authenticity of the movement of these huge warships at sea, the crew shot the outdoor scene in the hardened area of Wuxi, and nearly 100 vehicles were installed on the hanging blue screen to build an open-air blue-screen naval combat studio of nearly 30000 square meters and 15 meters high. At the same time, the crew independently developed the largest seven groups of computer numerical control motion platforms in China, each of which can carry more than 150 tons of warships to shoot marine operations. Director Zheng Baorui said that although these one-to-one engraved ancient warships, this open-air greenhouse and these dynamic simulation platforms cost a lot of money, in order to restore the authenticity and cruelty of the naval battle of Penghu, these shooting conditions are necessary. No matter how difficult it is, it has to be solved effectively. "fortunately, these have all been realized."

During the six months of filming, in July and August 2024, the crew experienced a seaside 46 °high temperature cooking mode and a cement high temperature barbecue mode for several weeks along the coast of Quanzhou and Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, as well as two typhoons of level 10 and 12. **according to incomplete statistics, during the open-air shooting process, the crew experienced dozens of rain and strong winds of all sizes, and insisted on shooting naval battles in the water in a zero-degree environment for more than 10 days in a row. "for the first time since I started filming, I have experienced what it means to be windy and rainy. This changeable climate is particularly in line with the" unpredictable changes of the combat environment at sea. "" I shoot whatever the sky tells me to shoot. "Zheng Baorui said with a laugh when recalling the shooting process of the film.

The film the Battle of Penghu is made by Wang Haifeng as the chief producer, directed by Zheng Baorui and written by du Jiayi. The film is currently in intensive post-production.
