From March 10 to April 10, 2022, the 26th French activity month will celebrate the diversity of French languages across China. This French month was held by the French Embassy in China in conjunction with many missions and diplomatic institutions, with the theme of "self transcendence". First, transcend the boundaries of countries and regions from five continents to meet in the French family. Here, French is not only a common language, but also presents a variety of accents and expressions. Different cultures breed French with different styles, enriching the language and making it full of vitality. The second is to transcend all possibilities and depict a world that shines with the light of knowledge and scientific progress and continues to scale new heights in artistic creation and sports achievements.
Workshops, lectures, performances, films, exhibitions, competitions... As in previous years, audiences can discover or rediscover the diversity of French expressions through wonderful projects in this year's French activity month.

This French activity month is almost the same time as the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games and the winter Paralympic Games. French is one of the official languages of the Olympic Games. In response to this international sports event, the 26th French language activity month specially increased the proportion of sports related events, highlighting the Olympic spirit of "faster, higher, stronger and more united".
During the activity month, introductory courses for fencing, equestrian, rugby and other sports will be launched, and participants will have the opportunity to experience these sports. Both children and adults can learn to surpass themselves and show better themselves in a relaxed atmosphere. In addition, we will invite athletes or participants of the Olympic and Paralympic Games from French speaking countries such as France, Canada and Lebanon to have online exchanges and listen to these high-level athletes' anecdotes about their experiences in the event.

French is the only language spoken on all five continents except English. The food culture of the French world is rich and diverse, unparalleled. In addition to the common language, French speaking countries and regions have different cooking traditions and influence each other. Approaching the French world through food and traditional dishes is the best way to meet people there.
During the French activity month, professional chefs and food lovers will gather together to share the fun of food, create recipes or make desserts together. A series of workshops will take you to appreciate the special cuisine of different regions. This will be a gourmet trip between France, Belgium and Quebec.

400th anniversary of Moliere's birth

Batiste pockland, known as Moliere, was born on January 15th, 1622. To commemorate the 400th anniversary of the birth of this 17th century French playwright and comedian, this French activity month will take you to rediscover this versatile artist.
The French cultural center in Beijing will broadcast three representative works of Moliere, "hypocrite", "moan without illness" and "the hater", which are rehearsed by the French comedy troupe in 2022. The French Union of China will hold a Moliere exploration workshop, and invite participants to recite or perform fragments of Moliere's dramatic works individually or in combination.

Poetry is eternal spring

The most beautiful poems of French speaking countries will be displayed in "the poet's spring". "Poet's spring" is an important poetry festival in France, and now it has also landed in other countries. At that time, the Chinese poets present at the scene will read poems for friends who love poetry together with the poets from Tunisia, Senegal, Belgium, Luxembourg and Switzerland online. Words combined with music will undoubtedly make both the reader and the listener more involved. This year, the theme of "poet's spring" is "fleeting". The event will be held in Beijing, Guilin, Kunming, Chengdu and other cities. In Beijing, Professor Dong Qiang will bring his "poetic confession" at the closing ceremony of the poetry festival to talk about his role as a ferryman in the field of Chinese and French poetry.

14 films constitute the film list of this year's French film collection.
