## UNESCO International Training Center for intangible cultural heritage in the Asia Pacific Region The UNESCO International Training Center for intangible cultural heritage in the Asia Pacific region is an international institution in the field of intangible cultural heritage established in Beijing, the people's Republic of China, on February 22, 2012, in accordance with the agreement signed between the Chinese government and UNESCO. It is a UNESCO class II Center. It is also one of the institutions of the National Institute of cultural property of Japan. The center is committed to promoting the Convention for the protection of intangible cultural heritage and its implementation, and strengthening the protection of intangible cultural heritage by initiating and organizing research on the protection practices and methods of intangible cultural heritage in the Asia Pacific region. ### The functions of the center include: 1、 Initiate and organize research on the practice and methods of intangible cultural heritage protection; 2、 Assist countries in the region, especially developing countries, in carrying out other research activities; 3、 Organize and hold regional training activities and seminars, focusing on the research work as intangible cultural heritage protection measures, protection practices and protection methods; 4、 Encourage and assist young researchers in the region to engage in research activities aimed at protecting intangible cultural heritage; 5、 Work together with other regional centers of intangible cultural heritage active in the region and outside the region; 6、 Guide relevant institutions in the field of intangible cultural heritage to cooperate and provide one-to-one technical support to developing countries in the region. >Related links:[ https://www.irci.jp/ ]( https://www.irci.jp/ ) ## UNESCO International Information and Network Center for intangible cultural heritage in the Asia Pacific Region The UNESCO International Information and Network Center for intangible cultural heritage in the Asia Pacific region, established in South Korea in 2011, is a UNESCO class II Center.
