The new animated film "Dream of Robots", the most popular animated film in China in the past seven years, has become a hit all over the country. The film released a behind-the-scenes special of "montage" today. Director and screenwriter Pablo Berger and editor Fernando Franco recalled the harvest, challenge and emotion in the animation production stage. The film is written and directed by Pablo Berger and adapted from the cartoon of the same name by Sarah Warren, a writer of children's literature. It tells the story of a lonely puppy who meets a robot. In the vast city, the TA rely on each other and warm each other. However, an accident makes the dog and the robot miss each other. From then on, the TA can only hide their thoughts for each other in their dreams.

Director's editing and editing work together to build animation skeleton

build a bridge between dream and reality

The director rated Fernando Franco as an excellent editor. Fernando Franco established an independent structure for the film, making it a bigger leap forward on the basis of the original. After rough cutting, the film is combed and cut into several sections, and the independent structure of the film is finally established by cleaning, adjusting and finding the internal rhythm of the film. The director admitted that his collaboration with Fernando Franco was full of "excitement" and that they could communicate and adjust in a timely and meticulous manner whenever they found a lack of a mirror or other mistakes in the editing process. Such a single-cut way to solve the problem is "great" in the eyes of the director.

Fernando Franco showed that animated films are freer than live-action movies. In the control of the scene, animated films can accept more space for scene adjustment, and there are many opportunities to adjust the role, layering, color and other aspects, and the control over the rhythm of time is unprecedented. Fernando Franco remembers the scene of a dog hanging in the air for a moment while driving a sleigh down a cliff. In this "hovering time", he included details such as the change of the dog's expression and the three pigs and puppies looking at each other, making the whole scene like a roller coaster. Through ingenious editing techniques, it not only creates a tense and exciting atmosphere, but also finds a perfect balance between fast rhythm and slow motion, making the audience seem to be in a dream duel. This exquisite control of time and space is one of the important reasons why the Dream of Robot can touch people's hearts.

have no choice but to miss the audience and cry every other day

High sincerity production brings high praise

A lot of montage in the film moved the audience infinitely. In particular, the camera switch after the puppy and the robot were forced to separate highlights how much the TA misses each other. "I know how to shoot, I like it so much, I don't need the company of words, I miss it when I'm not around, and I put it down after the reunion." The audience was deeply moved by the unspoken screen switch: "We have more or less experienced the repulsion of fate, tacit friendship has really happened, and there will always be new places." Some viewers read how emotions change from the language of the camera: "the imaginary 'pat on the shoulder' and the 'look through the window' that didn't happen are so abusive, maybe this is the best ending." There is an audience from the feelings of no fate to understand the reality is sometimes very helpless.

Not only montage, the film reflects the cooperation and ingenuity of the whole behind-the-scenes team from the aspects of plot, art, characters and so on. Some viewers were surprised by the unexpected colored eggs: "the Wizard of Oz", "Psycho", "Manhattan". All kinds of compliments are readily available. " Some viewers were moved to tears by the interpretation without lines: "the plot of dancing in the air made me cry out of the whole bag of paper towels." Some viewers were even impressed by the supporting role: "I like ducks best, and I admire the courage to walk away." After the film was released in China, it gained a high reputation. In Douban alone, more than 160000 people scored 9.0.

The film "Dream of Robotics" is jointly produced by Acadia Pictures of Spain, Rockets Pictures of Spain, Nudos Pictures of France and Vosso Film of France, and imported by China Film Group. Issued and translated by China Film Co., Ltd., it is in hit theaters all over the country.
