Launched in 2014, China-France Environment month is the only interdisciplinary activity organized by foreign embassies in China around environmental issues, aimed at raising public awareness of environmental protection as much as possible. at the same time, strengthen the implementation and promotion of cooperation between China and France on environmental issues. In order to encourage the public to contribute to the maintenance of a good and sustainable environment, this year's China-France Environment month invited Chinese actor Huang Xuan to serve as promotion ambassador. At the launching ceremony, Ambassador Luo Liang issued a certificate to Huang Xuan. Huang Xuan also shared his experience in environmental protection and called for the protection of biodiversity. Huang Xuan said: "as a public figure, I have the responsibility and obligation to publicize and participate in such environmental protection activities. I hope that through my voice, more friends will increase their awareness of environmental protection."
On the occasion of the sixth anniversary of the entry into force of the Paris Agreement, the theme of this year's China-France Environment month is "Blue Planet", focusing on the protection of rivers, wetlands, oceans and coastal areas, both to show the beauty of the earth. it is also a warning of the ecological degradation the planet is suffering and encourages people to think about how to take action. In his speech, Ambassador Luo Liang said: "the sixth anniversary of the entry into force of the Paris Agreement is of great significance. As we all know, it is urgent to protect the environment. Warning signals are being issued all over the world: storms, droughts, floods and forest fires are calling on us to take action. Action is a commitment made by France and China and 194 countries around the world and the European Union when they signed the Paris Agreement. Since then, France and China have never wavered in fulfilling this commitment. " He said that France is committed to promoting a grand environmental agenda at the international level, and China is a key partner in achieving these goals. China and France should continue to work side by side to find solutions to the current challenges facing the planet.
According to Pei Guoliang, Minister Counsellor of Culture, Education and Science Affairs of the French Embassy in Beijing, since the launch of the Sino-French Environment month on November 5, a series of scientific or knowledge popularization lectures, exhibitions, film screenings, workshops and fairs will be held simultaneously in Beijing, Shanghai, Wuhan, Kunming, Shenyang and other cities in China. Among them, on November 8, Chinese and French legal experts in coastal and marine environmental protection will jointly hold a round table on the "Special Court of the Coastal Zone" in Beijing to introduce the impact of climate change on oceans and marine microorganisms from a legal point of view, and share the experience and methods of the two countries in protecting coastal assets. On November 17, the French reading final of "Blue Planet in Jules Verne" will be held in Shanghai; on November 19, a floral workshop on "skillful use of natural and recycled materials" will be held in Guangzhou; and before the end of November, an exhibition of "sad mushroom farmers" will be held in Kunming, and an exhibition of "Wolong Lake Wetland" will be held in Shenyang.

At the launching ceremony of the "China-France Environment month", Chinese and European representatives also held the signing ceremony of the EU-China Biodiversity Fund-Grant Framework Agreement. The framework agreement is part of the EU-China Biodiversity Fund and aims to support the optimization and implementation of China's public policy on biodiversity conservation. The fund is funded by 13 million euros by the European Union and implemented by the French Development Agency. The framework agreement signed this time includes 7 million euros of the fund, which is dedicated to technical assistance in the areas of biodiversity and environmental protection in China to tie in with the implementation of the loan project. The first one to benefit from this project is the demonstration project of protecting the source of Qianjiang River and promoting the development of beautiful towns in Kaihua, Zhejiang Province.
