The musical "Yin Hong kapok" shows the touching story of Yang Yin's participation in the revolution during the 18 years from the Huanghuagang uprising in 1911 to the heroic sacrifice in 1929, with "warm-blooded theme, brooding and always following the Party" as the main track of life. Eulogize his early years to follow Sun Yat-sen, participate in the Alliance, participate in the Huanghuagang uprising, save the country and the people, to meditate Firmly believe in Marxism, join Communist Party of China, organize in support of Shanghai workers' strike, preside over the supervision and elimination of counter-revolutionaries, and die bravely in Shanghai. In this process, Yang Yin realized two major changes from the old Democrat to the new Democrat and from the three democratic principles to the Marxist. In order to finance the revolution, he sold his family property; in order to participate in the revolution, he gathered less and separated more with his wife and children; in order to pursue light, he firmly believed in Marxism and joined Communist Party of China; in order to win the revolution, he gave his precious and young life with the spirit and heroism of "dying overnight". He was only 37 years old when he died.

Yin Hong kapok is a front-line domestic creator, directed by Zhong Hao, a famous director and president of the China Musical Association, and Zhao Haifeng, a senior play planner and director of the repertoire creation department of the China Opera and Dance Theater. Tao Mo, deputy dean of Xinghai Conservatory of Music, served as music director, Yang Shuo, deputy secretary general of China Musical Association, acted as screenwriter, and Chen Siang, associate professor of composition department of Xinghai Conservatory of Music, acted as composer. Tao Lei, the dance designer of China Opera and Dance Theater, serves as the visual director. The play is starred by Wang Chuanliang, Wu Huimin, Xie Yun, Feng Guodong, Xu Le, Liu Ying, Guo Yiqing, Zhai Xiaohan, Lu Yafei, Huang Zhenyue and other powerful actors, bringing the audience a magnificent history and an impressive heroic story.

Background music has strong characteristics of Lingnan music, from melody to orchestration, highlighting the regional cultural characteristics of Guangdong. In the design of dance beauty, it emphasizes multiple uses of one scene, which fully restores the characteristics of Cuiheng village where Yang Yin was born and grew up-narrow alleys, mottled white walls and ancestral halls with Lingnan characteristics, which constitute the main tone of the musical and highlight the Lingnan flavor. it gives this work a distinct regional color.
