Beijing, August 21, 46 groups of works by artist Leon Wang and his team will be unveiled in the super exhibition hall of Tmur10 Culture and Art Space on the fourth floor of SKP-S in Beijing. The works on display cover the artist's multi-creation and interpretation of core images in the fields of numbers, sculptures and installations in the past three years. The exhibition, organized by Yongchuan Culture and co-organized by SKP-S and the Fantasy Art Center, will last until October 10th.

the embodiment of the common spiritual core returns to the new concept of art

Leon Wang graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2004 and has been engaged in professional animation, games, IP derivatives and other fields for nearly two decades. OutSad series is the awakening of the identity of artists, which began in 2019. In the contemporary era of digital and commercial, artists return to the new concept of art along the path of art history. From Henry Moore's flowing and hollowed-out sculptures to the bony shape of the universe and life in his flowing and hollowed-out sculptures, to Giacometti's vast space of emptying loneliness in the face of storms, to Anish Kapoor's full colors and pure materials for spiritual dialogue between the East and the West, Leon Wang's works come down in the same line. The vision of his works is pregnant with a pair of fundamental contradictions: the contradiction between the impact of the formal organization of works under the high-tech dimension and the stability of his rooted core of consciousness. His works do not rigidly adhere to a single formal framework, so he is far from the traditional concept of category subdivision, he is strongly expressed in multi-dimensions in form, in order to reflect the common mother language of human beings. The existential meaning of Leon Wang as an artist is the embodiment of the common spiritual core, and the theme of repetition and high density in this exhibition helps him to shape the dynamic appearance of the world outlook, thus affecting the traces of the audience, the field and the discussion topic.

focus on the daily head-up experience covered by the torrent of modernity into the author's inner real world

Compared with the mainstream self-expression and grand narration of super-contemporary artists, Leon Wang's works focus on the daily head-up experience masked by the torrent of modernity. Starting from the original embryo of the "protagonist" (let's just call it that), the exhibition tells the story of the artist's throbbing of the spiritual soul from the earth nature, moving forward, then breaking down the outer model, revealing the real body, and entering the adventures of different characters. Wearing a hood, drooping ears, bowing his head, Neiba's footsteps and hands in his pocket, he has "the most stubborn softness in his heart, the gentle and firm companionship around him (Leon Wang)". No criticism, no irony, no ferment, gentleness and romance are the true dignity. In the activation of this human situation, artists' use of themes, media and cultural resources constitutes an endless projection perspective and parallax transformation, and drives the direction of the future view of history. The artist sometimes jokes that "ignore me 999" is made of 9999 gold and stands alone in a huge booth, hoping to dispel the eyeball tracking brought by the monetary value of gold at a distance; the artist is sometimes sincere. The "creative manuscript" of the artist's series of works is displayed on the spot, each page is full of pictures and texts about the source of inspiration, and the communication with the artist master makes us enter the real world of the author's heart.

State-of-the-art digital technology creates the most "real" illusion, with the "protagonist" behind the hyperfine screen shuttling between different identities, from a prince with roses in a thorn bush to a diving spirit made up of smiling faces. Beyond the boundaries of ultra-contemporary sculptures, tenons, fabrics, Swarovski crystals, mechanical devices, magnetic fluids and so on, are archetypes. The scale is also numerous, looking at the fiber nanoscale in the distance, looking at the mega-masterpiece nearby, the discussion between big and small, and completing the jungle-like moving wrong scene of sculpture in the imagination and interaction with the audience.

In the era of mechanical reproduction, people's desire for possession can be easily realized, everyone can easily get a picture of the Mona Lisa, and the privilege seems to be hidden from the words of the public. This is the special purpose of this exhibition, where it is open to everyone and art to equality. But in the works of Art in the Age of Mechanical reproduction, Walter Benjamin worried that Aura, the most important authenticity of a work of art, would disappear with reproduction and artistic disenchantment. While reviving the copied object, the work is excluded from the sense of distance, authenticity and alienation, which makes the work "aura" disappear. But Leon Wang gives the answer in his work: every protagonist's "heart" is empty, and its interior is bright flesh and blood, unique. As viewers, we give real meaning to this core. Everyone, in the work, sees himself. From the embryonic form, to the creation, to being seen in the exhibition, and even to being collected, this chain of life is complete. "beyond sadness" belongs to our time alone. It does not show the yearning of the ancients to defend the wind freely, but only shows the common background at the bottom of our lives at this moment.

How to find a unique way of existence and emotional state in the era of commercialization, scale and batch? as a series of symbolic spiritual representatives and universal significance, Leon Wang's works reflect the ideal and warm value with different prisms and return to the original heart and origin. The origin, which is not only individualized, but also individualized under the concept of socialization, looks back on human nature in the history of art and reshapes its strength in the tide of the world of mortals. The space left for us to discuss, feel, and enlighten us is beyond sadness.
